Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions patients ask before coming in for emergency dental care at our Mississauga clinic.

Still have questions?

Our friendly team is here to help. Reach out to us anytime for assistance.

Call us as early as possible during business hours — Wednesday through Saturday, 9am to 7pm. We reserve emergency slots daily, but they fill quickly. The earlier you call, the more likely we can see you the same day. You can also book online for next-available appointments.

No, extraction is always a last option. We always try to save your natural tooth first, whether through a filling, root canal, crown, or other treatment. We only recommend extraction when a tooth cannot be saved or when leaving it would cause further damage.

Our goal is to relieve your pain, not add to it. We use effective local anesthesia before any procedure so you feel comfortable throughout. Most patients are surprised by how painless modern emergency dental treatment can be. We also offer anxiety-free care for nervous patients.
Yes — the Canadian Dental Care Plan covers many emergency services including examinations, X-rays, fillings, and extractions for eligible patients. If you’re unsure whether you qualify, our team can help you check your CDCP eligibility when you call. Income under $90,000 household may qualify.

Absolutely. We welcome new patients for emergency appointments. You don’t need to be an existing patient of Destiny Dental to receive same-day emergency care. Just call us and our team will get you in as quickly as possible.
Act fast, time is critical. Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently with milk or water without scrubbing, and try to place it back in the socket if possible. If not, store it in milk or between your cheek and gum to keep it moist. Call us immediately; teeth re-implanted within 30–60 minutes have the best chance of survival.
